I had 3 recommendations for Tomboy as a notemaking program so I'll give
it a go. 

As far as a calendar facility is concerned, I'm looking at Kontact and
Seamonkey as two possibles, unless someone knows a third.

I'm looking for something simple and efficient that caters for recurring
events, ideally integrating well into Ubuntu and something that
hopefully imports my Evolution Calendars.

I'd welcome all thoughts on the options here.
