Yes I gathered Xfce had the largest advantage on the oldest hardare. So
I guess with newer hardware the advantage would be less noticeable,
although still there. 

The more I read about this the more I want to try Xubuntu. Are there any
downsides whatsoever to Xfce that I need to know about?
