Windows XP doesn't find the soundcard either.

It's remotely possible that the hardware is so new and the XP out of
date, but I think that points to a knackered sound bit.

The rest of it seems to work tho, so I'll probably stick in another
sound card.

Recommendations please for a card that Linux, SUSE, will like? Lucy
has surround speakers and wants to watch DVDs etc.
