Hmmm... your message was originally declared as ISO-8859-15. When my MUA
(PINE) was configured as ISO-8859-1, it showed it as a question mark. It
would appear that my terminal is still configured as ISO-8859-1 as even if
PINE is reconfigured for ISO-8859-15, I see your Euro sign as the 'former
international currency sign' (i.e. the small square with 'legs' at each
vertex). If I try to type a euro symbol, I can't, regardless of which mode
PINE is in. I can type euro symbols in graphical editors (e.g. gedit,
probably evolution too).
Unicode and related issues does all seem to be a mess (regardless of OS),
and worst of all, I can't figure out who's complying and who's not (though I
hear from a programmer behind imdb.com, that Microsoft are one of those not
playing cricket).
7 bit ASCII and phonetic spelling. That's the way to go, I tell you. ;-)
