Hi

Sorry I missed the start of the thread :-(

1) If you upgrade from ubunti to kubuntu, you shoud also do

sudo apt-get install kdm

When prompted, choose yes to get kdm as your default login manager. You
*should* get a kde desktop when loggin in.

2) Installing from scratch is not neccessary, but if you do, download the
kubuntu cd image rather than converting ubuntu to kubuntu.

http://kubuntu.org/

3) I fyou need help with kubuntu, there is the kubuntu specific wiki:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com//Kubuntu

as well as of course teh usual ubuntu wiki. Also pop into #kubuntu on
irc.freenode.net for interactive help.

Have fun !

Tim
