Yes, this seems to create /proc/scsi.
What does

The output is:
/proc/scsi:
total 0

-r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 Mar 4 23:21 scsi
hang on, modules... trying something here...
Ok, fixed it! I had to modprobe the aic7xxx module, I
just assumed it had been loaded. Told you it'd be
something obvious!
