FYI:-

######################################################################

all,

due to continued growth and requirement for onsite engineers, Red Hat
Global Professional Services (GPS) are again recruiting for onsite
consultants and engineers. The last hire we made came via a similar
posting on linuxjobs, so please don't think its a black hole.

We have 2 positions. One will be based in the Nordic region,
specifically Sweden or Finland so we would prefer someone with the
relevant language skills and who would be prepared to relocate.
For the UK position, there would be travel in the UK (and to the Nordic
and Benelux regions). Also, as we have a growing demand from UK
Govt, the individual may also be asked to obtain clearance for this
work.

many regards

Malcolm

implementation of open source solutions for a range of customers.
Typical engagements last 5-60 days, although we have much longer
projects. Work ranges from installation of servers for specific
solutions (database clusters for example), to build and design of
customised distributions.

The GPS team is currently made up of six full-time people in the UK and
a number of contractors. The UK team is part of a larger European team,

one of our partners, who include Dell and HP.

be based around recent Linux distributions, ideally Red Hat Enterprise

consulting environment is also desirable.

Education: A technically-based computing degree is desirable, although
not essential (dependent on experience). No Linux certification is
required, but will need to obtain during the initial period of
employment.

Aptitude: Working in GPS is characterised by a combination interesting
technical problems and working in a customer facing environment. An
applicants must have the following characteristics: - good problem
solving skills
- ability to work on their own or as part of a distributed team
- be prepared to travel, sometimes at short notice. GPS staff are
typically based at home, but can be working anywhere in EMEA.
- be technical, but be also to communicate well with customers and be
prepared to discuss business issues.

Salary: TBD, based on experience and expertise; there is an assigned
budget for the post. The salary will have a fixed based with a variable
element based on performance. This will initially be 10% of base salary.
