All,

I don't seem to be having much success installing
SUS 9.3 or Fedora core 3 :-(

My laptop (old {98'ish} and rarely used) only has 64M of
memory and the installation get all the way through to 
configuring a kernel before throwing a Python exception
(tried two installs).  Ordered some more memory
and will see if that helps.

On the cheapo box from PC World (used as a dedicated
internet box) Suse dies (or at least nothing is visible) fairly
soon into the installation.  I suspect the video card, are
'backward' compatibility problems common with X.org?

Fedora core 3 insists on using a fancy window manager
(which does a very poor job or being visible on my screen
{video card problems?})and does not install f2wm by
default :-(

Oh, the unappreciated joys of RedHat 9.

I don't plan to upgrade any of my more upmarket machines
for the time being.
