The only thing non-standard, I think, is the last entry for skychart.

 From the forum discussion, lots of people were hit by the problem.

Maybe they have reverted the repository now.  The published workaround
involved downloading xserver-xorg-core_1.0.2-0ubuntu10.4_i386.deb.
Doing dpkg -i on that said it was replacing 1:1.0.2-0ubuntu10.3 so
I assume that's the bad version.

Probably the story's something like 10.1 was standard, 10.3 came
along but was bad.  The quick workaround was to install 10.4 from a
different location but they've now put the repository back to 10.1.

One could speculate that the 10.4 in the workaround is just a
relabeled 10.1 to prevent a repeat upgrade being offered while
10.3 was in the repository.  That's just a guess, of course.

I'm not going to muck with anything until the dust settles.  If it
ain't broke...
