Can you give that lecture to cheap laptop makers please. Back-In-The-Day 
you could get a laptop whith bays were you could easily give something 
up for a second disk. Now laptops are thankfully alot smaller and 
lighter, but all such options have gone! I tend to remove the optical 
drive and put a second spinning disk there, and leave a USB optical in 
the laptop bag. This is ok for me but doesn't help me fend off all the 
people who come to me with failed laptop drives crying.
