[sclug] Headphone socket on laptop

Hello everyone at sclug.

I am new to linux operating systems and I want to put xubuntu on my sony
vaio which is about seven years old. For me this is a question of confidence
and I want to preserve the windows xp software and run the xubuntu in
conjunction with it. I know I have to patition the drive to do this but
xubuntu does not seem to offer this to me in any clear manner.

I would really appreciate it if somebody could tell me if someone take me
through it at some point. Any offers?
