I have a spare HDD that he can have along with a computer if he is so
inclined to take.

1 AMD 600Mhz
2 PIII 1Ghz
1 Dell Power Edge Dual PIII 1.3Ghz (this uses SCSI, so is quite loud)

The teenage son of some friends of ours has acquired an old PC base unit

(1GHz, 128Mb) to mess around with and is keen to try Linux on it.
However the machine doesn't have a HDD. I've sent him away to burn
knoppix to run it from the CD drive but it'd be nice to find a HDD for
him so he can play with a real installation. Does anyone have anything
he could have (10Gb or over)?

Forgot to say, it needs to be IDE or ATA or whatever rather than SATA

I have a 6.4 and a 2.1GB drive if they would help? I would have no
problem putting an ordinary install of say ubuntu onto the 6.4GB, not
much rookm to play with but it would work. It would require a minimum
of 4GB I think to work.
