[sclug] Trying to avoid landfill

Sorry if this is way off topic, but it's worth a shot.

Having been bludgeoned by 'her indoors'  into doing my bit to defeat the
credit crunch by relieving John Lewis of the world's largest HD television
(or so it seems), I now have a perfectly good, e.w.o., black Panasonic 26"
CRT TV with stand and remote, going begging. I hate to use it to fill a hole
in the ground, and I doubt if it is even worth trying to sell on ebay or
whatever.


It's been absolutely reliable over its lifetime, so my ideal would be to see
some worthy or charitable cause make use of it, a care home or something
similar. Does any one know how I might go about that? I mean short of
working through the phone book. A  charity website or mailing list or
something. If not, I'll have to try freecycle.
