I'm absolutely certain that unless the published Samsung documentation is
incorrect, the jumper is set to Master (RH pair of pins when looking at the
jumper block) and the DVD device is on the end of the cable. It's the only
device on that cable, on IDE channel 1 on the MB. My old DVD reader happily
boots when directly substituted.
