For an OS on a working PC I'm pretty happy with SUSE although I do tend to
miss every other upgrade and rely on the online update for patches and bug
fixes. This isn't really down to cost more a reflection of my lack of
interest in tinkering on machine I use for work and play.
The biggest problem and the greatest feature of SUSE is yast, learn to love
or find another distro it really isn't worth fighting with. If you want to
tinker with your setup a lot when you reach the limits of what yast will do
you will find it gets in the way of some manual configuartion changes you
make.
I will be buying 8.2 in the near future (as soon as i have a room to set up
my PC in) and you are welcome to a copy of the CDs - I don't have the
facilities to copy the DVD be warned updates may not be regular.
