Yes.  In extremis, you could ask Lars & Co. "Please remove
our list", and they would.  (Lesser options, e.g. no posts
from gmane to the list, are more common.)

gmane is not mailing lists entangled with regular usenet
newsgroups.  It is *nothing but* mailing lists, delivered
over nntp.  It's the dog's biscuit.
