[Scottish] eth0 faiing

My mandrake box stopped communicating on my LAN for the second time in a few
days yesterday.  I just checked the log and found these entries:

Jun 11 05:54:48 kes kernel: NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out
Jun 11 05:54:49 kes kernel: TLAN: eth0: Starting autonegotiation.
Jun 11 05:54:51 kes kernel: TLAN: eth0: Autonegotiation complete.
Jun 11 05:54:51 kes kernel: TLAN: eth0: Link active

this happens roughly every 30 seconds but the eth0 connection does not work.
I rebooted and all is fine, but it did this exact same thing a few days ago.
Does anyone know what the problem is?
