[Scottish] Suggestions/help with barcode scanner {Scanned}

Ben,
Some bar scanners go to sleep, and wont wake up until a wake command is sent.
The RS232 port can provide 5v but at a very low current (i dont have the docs in work, there buried somewhere in the house! so i cant check the exact mA output).
