Exactly - cheap shit, designed to fail.  That's before we even consider 
the steaming pile that is USB, another of the computer industries great 
"we arsed it but it's too late to change now" moves, like the 640k 
limit, segmented addressing,  AC97, IDE and who knows what all else...
