You may remember the launch of the Scottish Open Source Awards back in the
summer. This has now been merged into the annual Scottish Software Awards
dinner on November 23rd.

So, along with the usual: "Best Software Product", "Best Digitial Media
Software Solution" etc there is now the:

      Scottish Open Source Excellence Award

If you work at a (perhaps large) company, public organisation or
educational establishment that either uses Open Source (say RBS, who have
deployed Zope/Plone), or contributes to Open Source (say Wolfson
Microelectronic, who have contributed to the Linux kernel), please
could you forward this message to your Marketing people so that they can
nominate your company for the Open Source Excellence award.
Small/innovative companies very welcome.

More details at:
   http://scottishsoftwareawards.co.uk/awards/
   http://scottishopensourceawards.co.uk/

The higher profile the companies nominated for the award, the bigger the
Press coverage for all companies in that new category, the better for
the adoption of Open Source in general.

Thanks
