laptop BIOS issue

I think I managed to sort it, after a lot of faffing around.
The chip is SPI flash, so in case it eats itself again, I'll take a backup
of it working and flash it back if needed. I've managed to do stuff with an
old xbox using a raspberry pi so I'll give that a go
