New major Linux show launched
- LinuxUser & Developer Expo 2003 comes to town

A brand new show has been launched by leading industry magazine
LinuxUser and Developer. The event, called the LinuxUser and
Developer Expo, will take place on 15 and 16 April at the NEC in
Birmingham. Benefiting from the magazine\'s reputation among users,
and the skills and expertise of its editorial and marketing team,
it promises to be the UK Linux show of the year. The event
anticipates over 5,000 visitors and entry to the exhibition is free
if you register beforehand at www.linuxuserexpo.com or call the
ticket hotline on 01905 350444. Over the two days, major players
from across the Linux industry will bring together an extensive
range of business and technical solutions for Linux and open source
under one roof. With IT giant IBM as Platinum sponsor, the
exhibition promises to be the UK\'s pre-eminent Linux event.
Confirmed exhibitors to date include: SGI, Blue Fountain, ITs
Linux, Internet Adventure, Consensys and DNUK.

Running alongside the exhibition, the LinuxUser & Developer
Conference will feature business and technical tracks, with
constructive insight, incisive viewpoints and keynote presentations
from open source visionaries, Linux experts and industry
heavyweights. Some top names will lead the Keynote sessions. These
include: Jon \'Maddog\' Hall, Alan Cox and Liberal Democrat party
spokesperson on Education and Skills, Dr John Pugh, MP.

At the conference, sessions will cover a range of issues, such as
embedded systems, enterprise application development, Linux in
education and migration to Linux. And speakers representing a
breadth of sectors, such as government, finance and healthcare,
will relate their experiences in implementing Linux and open source
 solutions into their organisations.

The exhibition will feature workshops, tutorials and free seminars,
focusing on issues such as security, clustering and total cost of
ownership. Real life case studies and technical overviews will show
how Linux can be implemented in a wide variety of situations. Other
features include a .org village (an area for Linux and open source
community projects), a Linux centre for business and finance, a
wireless and broadband area, Linux on the desktop arena, the
LinuxUser Pavilion and a hacking room.

So whether you?re a business professional seeking first-hand
information on how Linux can improve the return on your technology
investment, or a Linux developer looking to network with other
members of the open source community, this is the show for you.=20
