Hi,
I cant recommend them at all. I have had to deal with them regarding a
business ADSL line and changing from a block of static IP's to 1 dynamic
IP. I ended up making over 10 phone calls to them, each time talking to
a different tech support person and each one did not really have a clue
what to do. I had a different answer each time - they changed config at
their end (no use as the router was BT managed), then they forgot to
tell BT to configure the router, then they wouldn't tell BT as they
thought it was a user error, then BT finally did come out and configured
the router wrongly.
So after about 2 months of trying to battle with Pipex/BT and having no
net connection at one of our sites, I flashed the router with new
firmware and config and wiped BT's config off. Wasn't supposed to do it
really but I'd had enough!!
Admittedly BT were to blame also in this, but I found Pipex tech support
to be pretty much useless - they were blatantly just reading off scripts
and didn't have much TCP/IP knowledge at all. I'm sure others will have
had better experiences though, this is just my own. YMMV.
I have used plus.net for other lines and have always found them to be
excellent on tech support, so I would recommend them definately.
Cheers,
Dan
