Hi some monitors had spark gaps and they get fluff in them which leads to
sparking the other cause is the solder on HT line melts and runs off the
joint this is on the main board at the bottom of the monitor most times but
have just fixed a dell monitor and it was on the board that plugs onto the
tube. you do have to unsolder screening cans and things.
