[Sderby] Broadband Email

Hi everyone
I have a little request for help. I have installed broadband and a 
network using a Netgear DG814 box and have got it working on that other 
Operating system. I am now trying to get it to work on Linux. I can get 
on to my broadband account for the Internet using a very old version of 
Netscape or Konqueror on Suse 7.2. My problem is email. What software 
should I use that will recognise my openworld account on broadband. All 
the programs I have tried, (eg Navigator and Kmail ) keep asking for a 
telephone number and wont recognise the always on connection.
Sorry I haven't been able to make Sunday meets lately, but I haven't 
given up.
