LinuxUser & Developer went into receivership during the summer, it
has been out every month since (under technically different
ownership). It has returned to its pre-news-stand roots of
philosophical articles.

Linux Magazine has been involved in shenanigans of a different
sort, but is still available over here.

Smaller branches - yes, probably.

Railway stations and large independent newsagents are normally 
a better bet than smaller Smiths.

Borders, if you can get to one, sell both the main American mags,
as well as 2600.
