Well, I've very quickly knocked a Debian system together and KDE "just
works". OTOH, sound doesn't work under GNOME. It's no big deal and a
little messing around is good for learning. I quite like KDE but I'd
really like to learn GNOME just so I can say I'm tolerably familiar with
it. I ee from the GNOME webite that it's intended to be easy to use for
beginners etc. but it just doen't eem quite so intuitive to me. Maybe
that's more my problem than anything else though.
However, this is a system that I'll probably end up configuring and
reconfiguring ad infinitum as I want to familiarise myself with various
applications (LVM being one of them)
