[Sderby] Error messages in Ubuntu Edgy

Hi Folks
I have just gone through the motions of upgrading from Hoary right
through to Edgy. However I keep getting the following error message from
the Update manager.

"invoke-rc.d initscript samba action "start" failed
dpkg:error processing samba (--configure)

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Also my disc is rather full and I want to know how to identify any files
from the earlier upgrades, that I can delete.
