[StAndrews and Fife LUG] plugins

I'm having problems with running Netscape and plugins (particularly JRE)

I've downloaded netscape, but can only start it from a command prompt. =20
Windows can create a shortcut on the desk top, how do I find the correspo=
nding feature
with Mandrake ?  (why didn't it automatically install on the Start menus?=
)

I've also downloaded and installed JRE 1.4.1 but Netscape still thinks it=
s not installed.
any ideas ?

I think that Linux will be some time away before the man-on-the-street ca=
n use it.
(or is it just me ?)
