The "Druids" (arms/head/neck/etc/etc) that is near the pier, go to
clocktower from station, turn left down north street, just after you have
passed most of the banks etc, there is an paved entrance on the left to the
Royal Pavilion, ignore that, turn right into East street, Just inside the
entrance to east street on the right, next to the taxi rank is a small
street (can't remember name - though it may be signed for either the lanes
or Brighton square) and the Druids is just up the road ahead of you where
the street opens out. As I haven't lived in Brighton for 3 years, I don't
know where Mama Cherries??? is, but there are quite a few pubs in and around
the lanes, although if you end up out on the sea front, don't go into
"Doctor Brighton's" between Pool Valley and the Old Ship - looks out toward
the beach - UNLESS - you want to visit one of brighton's newer gay bars -
I'm sure that the regular clientele, are pleasant people, but some find that
sort of thing a little sordid and distasteful!!!!

regards
