Well 3aIT has agreed to Become , and will be the premier, implementer of
NetProjects SODA Architecture. Which will enable Authenticated and
secure Linux Desktop. 

I have seen the products in action and I will quite happily go on the
record to say the following 

Linux at the Desktop is ready and available now.

Further 

3aIT has utlised Linux as a desktop environment for over 4 Years and as
a Business has never had a problem with interaction or compatibility.

We even have a few customers who have now opted to move to Linux at the
desktop because, and in their own words. Microsoft products are just to
much cost and hassle and unreliable to be effective anymore.

So my TwoPence worth is that Linux is ready for the desktop.
