Okay its off topic sorry ...

here goes, 

The latest National Lottery advert suggest :
1 in 4 people who win the lottery are part of a Syndicate

Does this mean 3 in 4 are not ? 

So If I enter on my own I have a 3 in 4 chance of winning. Now ( btw
here the proof is wrong, someone want to explain <grin> ) if I enter a
Syndicate and on my on I have a 

1 in 4 plus 3 in 4 chance of winning which means I am guaranteed to win
!
