[Sussex] Last night's moot

Can I ask why everyone calls it a moot, rather than a meet or meeting?
Am confused.
By the way, I've just tried Mepis - I'd say it's an even better Live CD than
Knoppix 3.3
(It has Kernel 2.6.4 on it), but am intrigued to see what the forthcoming
Knoppix 3.4 is like.
