A very sensible suggestion.

I've been itching to demo some of the Home Automation stuff for a while
now... but leaving it another month will hopefully see the official release
of the "xAP-in-a-box" linux distribution.

xAP is a Home Automation standard, BTW...

This all sounds interesting but do feel if you only want it as a one off
event then would be better for a more planned event where some of the
more organizing of us can arranged for that moot to be more useful in a
sense of having suitable information ready etc.

I wouldn't want to opportunity to be wasted on bad organization.
