Go on.. Give it a whirl. Its actually a heck of a lot easier than it
sounds.
I rolled my first kernel successfully, just over a year ago now, and
since then I've rolled countless ones, tweaks on test systems and the
like. So far the only time I've messed up was either because I forgot
to run "lilo" after editing my bootloader's script, or because I didn't
follow the instructions for upgrading from a 2.4 kernel to a 2.6
kernel... The latter probably being the stupidest thing :-)
