The 840 is currently listed as "out of stock". Does that cause a
problem, or are they holding one for you?

If it were me, I would go for the physically larger screen. A 15" screen
has about 15" more surface area than a 14" screen, which for me makes
the difference. I seldom use my laptop away from the mains, so the
difference in battery life is a non-issue. (Indeed, my current laptop
has had a broken battery for about 2 years, and has an effective battery
life of about 5 minutes - enough to unplug from one outlet and move to
another without losing work, but that's all.)

On weight, the key question is "how much will you carry it?" For me,
most of my carrying is from the car in the client's car park, to the
client's office - a hundred yards tops. When I was working in London,
and thus getting the train, weight was a LOT more important, since I was
lugging on buses, and tubes and so on.

Probably more questions than answers there for you :-)
