Outstanding. Congratulations - No so "washed up" afterall eh! Steve.

The "horrors"? Hum! doesn't life deal a crappy hand of cards sometimes.
I suspect that that particular "horror" was a considerable "dig" in the
guts!

The gentoo comment? I'll take that particular "slur"? (:D) with a pinch
of the old sodium chloride, as it is still my distro of choice, though
I'm not using it at the moment, because I'm just too impatient (too much
to learn, with so little time - with caveat of also probably being too
stupid as well!). In the words of "Fu Man Chu", I shall return (better
than quoting Schwarzenegger!).

Ha!, below the rocket scientists maybe, (am I the only SLUG to actually
be related to a proper rocket scientist? - A brother who works part time
at ESA - and is a linux user), but it's well over the head of this
particular SLUG trucker :D, I can, but dream!

Oo Oo! Hardware of proven provenance, do you have any list(s)?

Again, well done on landing the CAA billet. Couldn't have happened to a
nicer chap.

p.s. and if you find that you can commute on your bike, be bloody
careful. I'm sure it doesnt' take one of the lists' token "Transport
professionals" to remind you that the A24 has one of the worse
reputations of any of our local roads, especially between the Washington
and Southwater roundabouts during the rush hour periods!

Ha! you could always buy a Harley, fit it with a rifle sling and
baseball bat, grow the hair to about half way down your back (manky
beard optional, wraparound mirror "shades" mandatory) and get a
"stormtrooper" type skid lid. That should keep the car driving
"amateurs" at bay (truckers don't care :D).

Hum? perhaps not! :D
