THANKS Brendan : following the linux route my primary goal /dream was is to
come up with a live "giveawayable" "cutdown" distro for this purpose after
much searching i found one similar to my imaginings! ... some lads have
been working on one for ecg (heart) monitoring it has a real time extension
and was said to be adaptable for other real time aquisition ect too good to
be true ! as youll see from my other post "ubuntu boot prob" my tirelessly
downoaded test copy will only boot so far (mabey chipset incompatibility)
and freeze .
I had realtime suggested to me by nik i beleive, from the slug , at the
charmingdean show/fair which confirmed my thinking /stumbling along with
some other good advice .
I suppose my aim is to have something that can control relativeley cheap
hardware for as many engine types as possible primarily my aim is to get a
project going for anybody interested , or a member of a group of which i am
a commitee member
tha GTBA "gas turbine builders association" these micro turbines jets / have
been developed to a great level of technical exellence in a group with with
similar ideals to linux user groups even helping manufacturers and writing
the british and american safety rulings guides (bmfa amfa) for model flyers
along the way for ten years now, whilst there are simple ways to run the
engines including some comercial controllers .we dont yet have a viable
/developable design for the association
/linux community,
and as project theres going to lots of enthusiasm i hope .with some flashy
graphical interfaces im sure !
p.s i could organise a run/demo& talk for the group at some stage if
interest is there....
if i can get some momentum behind things it will be great ,but over night is
not my expectation
i do realise the group is for primarily for linux !
thanks for your help i will throw some General engine ideas questions at
you Brendon along the way if thats ok ?
back after easter
