Yes true but what they are state is that it will stop if used on a top
tier chip although old the 750mhz athlon was at the top and the k3,k4 &
k5 value chips.
They are still producing athlons now except that added the number 64
after it :) and the semperon being the value chip.

The idea is to stop people selling on new system with good processors,
but they can sell it with a cheapo semperon or Celeron chips.
