With all (http://rss.slashdot.org/Slashdot/slashdot?m=2153) the
security problems with IE these days it should be fairly trivial to
write a page to send some code to auto-download firefox on a user's
machine and erase all trace of IE.

If it was just done and there was no message maybe people wouldn't
notice. Or they'd assume it was ok. Like the legions of other rubbish
they get from using Explorer.

Ahhh... that's when they'd notice of course:

IE Luser: Hey! I'm not getting loads of pop-ups and viruses
            anymore... something must be wrong...
