From my own memory I can't remember ever rejecting a spam trapped
message becuase it was spam - that's in about three years of being the
Sussex LUG ML-admin.  Before we changed to "auto drop non-member
posting" I did reject some some, but from what I can remember these were
from non-member e-mails address.  Spam has always hit the ML from
non-member e-mail accounts.

In light this, Andy's advice, and because we have changed a non-member
posting policy I have decided to take Andy's recomendation and removed
all out spam filters.  I don't believe you will see any change, but if
you do see spam from this list my apologies in advance.
