BCS Sussex April 16th - 'Newyorkyo to Dubainghai'
Shaun Elliott, Kisdata, Birmingham

Imagine if distance disappeared. And remote files and applications could
be opened up to 100 times faster. It’s possible by utilising Wide Area
Data Services. Would you like to collaborate between offices across town
or around the globe as if they were in the same room? By reducing
network traffic up to 95%, the impossible becomes possible, just like that.

Birmingham based Storage and Infrastructure specialists, Kisdata, are
resellers for, according to Gartner in September 2006, the leader in
Wide Area Optimisation Controllers, Riverbed. Wide-area Data Services
(WDS) incorporate Application Acceleration, Bandwidth and Transport
Optimisation to allow customers faster access to their data and, where
necessary, to consolidate both servers and storage with the very real
ability to perform backups over the WAN.

Alan has promised us a presentation on WDS on a reasonably technical,
non-commercial non-sales basis, explaining what it can do for an
organization with NO changes to an organizations existing
infrastructure. The talk will conclude with a demonstration of the
equipment.

Shaun Elliott is the Business Development Manager with Kisdata of
Birmingham.
