hi,

My name is James and I'm a recruiter that likes to work with clients to
source candidates for open source jobs. I am, for example, working with
a client in Cambridge right now who are looking to find a Linux Senior/
Systems Administrator to join a small (5) multi-skilled operations team.
The key for them is to find some one who has skills preferably with
multiple distro's whilst at the same time being comfortable with Bash/
Python scripting. Although they do have an existing MySQL DBA, it would
be beneficial if they were to find someone that had an interest in
pushing their database skills a little further or who was already well
versed in databases/ MySQL in particular.

At the same time, I am also working with another client in London who
are looking to recruit a real technology enthusiast who'll be able to
work with them to make the best use of MySQL. The role is titled MySQL
DBA however the scope of the role is "much" more along the lines of
MySQL Product Specialist.

Whilst I appreciate that this is the Sussex Linux Mailing List, I had
hoped that some members may take an interest in the type of positions I
recruit for and consider contacting me if they are either interested in
these jobs or instead might have wanted to let me know about themselves,
their core skills and experiences etc with a view that I could make them
aware of future positions within the Sussex region.

I like to consider myself a bit of a techie so I will, where possible,
try and contribute/ participate in mailing list discussions (and maybe
start a few myself) rather than just use the mailing list to post job
adverts. If I were to post job adverts, I could prefix the subject
with JOB: so that members can create a rule in their mail client to
either send to junk, delete, move to another folder etc...

Thanks and all the best,
JAMES
