[SWLUG] id3 tags in mp3 files

i've asked this before i think but does anyone knoe of a prog that will write 
a v1 tag from a v2 - not the other way round, there are a few id3* type progs 
on my system that claim to render v1 tags but seem to do so from the file 
name irrespective of whether there is a v2 tag present
i have 3043 files to tag so that my mp3 player will didplay properly
