Nope. Marillat's packages are sufficient such that you do not need X to
use it. Just to be accurate, you should add (if not already) the
following line to /etc/apt/sources.list:

deb ftp://ftp.nerim.net/debian-marillat/ unstable main

Then:

apt-get update && apt-get install mplayer-nogui
