I realise this, but you're confused. :) When you initially install --
i.e. after the grub/lilo prompt (whichever that version of SuSE uses),
that *is* loading a kernel regardless of how far you get with the
installation. So, my advise would be to hold down CTRL and/or SHIFT if
you do not get a prompt, and try again.
