Yes, I spend my life being confused :)
OK, can I try and unconfuse myself? I select "Install" from the grub
prompt. YAST2 then starts to load a kernel (as you say) and begins the
graphical install. Whilst this is happening I have this message from my
monitor on the screen saying it's not happy. When the graphical install
proggy starts, I can't read anything on the screen (except for the big red
error message which is nothing to do with YAST, but is coming from the
monitor itself.
Are you suggesting that there is some magic key combination I can then
press? I can't imagine that just holding the SHIFT key down is going to do
anything (although I'm happy to try it). Where will all this take take me
when I've found the magic combination? If it's to a command prompt, what do
I type to get everything to restart in such a way as to be able to read
what's on the screen?
Sorry if I'm sounding dense. It's probably because I am. Have pity.
Peter
