You need to:
1. Connect the machine to a network
2. Follow Gareth's instructions to enable Ubuntu's "universe" packages
(ie those that are not in the standard installation)
3. Type sudo apt-get update and then sudo apt-get install gnucash
Copying the gnucash.deb onto the machine on removable media will not
work because you are firstly unlikely to download the correct version
for Ubuntu, and secondly it has dependencies on upwards of 30 packages
which apt will be able to retrieve for you automatically, but it would
be a pain to do manually.
