With people converted to OpenOffice (on Windows) at my
company I have seen two interesting reactions. *Most*
people see little to no real difference. A minority
of people run into a few minor differences and begin
to complain and request for MS Office back.

This group tends to be vocal and inflexible (lacking a
good understanding of application basics). As a
result their transition to anything new on a computer
is a drama. For this group use of cross platform
programs first on the familiar Windows desktop is the
best choice. This allows them to take change in the
small doses well matched to their computer skills and temperament.
