[SWLUG] Boot up Log

Dear All

During boot up of my Mandrake 10.1  I see three entries in red that have 
failed, however this is near the end of the process, so the text is not 
on screen long enough for me to read it  So  went looking in the manual 
and read that "/var/log/boot.log" contains this information.  Carefully 
selected extracts are reproduced below.

"Feb 17 22:26:42 localhost network: Setting network parameters:  succeeded
Feb 17 22:26:43 localhost network: Bringing up loopback interface:  
succeeded
Feb 17 22:26:43 localhost network: Bringing up interface eth0:  failed
Feb 17 22:26:43 localhost portmap: portmap startup succeeded "

But I get internet access OK, so why the error message ?

But what is cpufreg ? and does its failure matter ?
